Oak Bookcases

Oak solid wood bookcases are probably the most common choice for the buyer of classic bookcases. Oak is a traditional North American hardwood used for bookshelves for centuries; its formal,

If you choose oak, however, you'll have to carefully evaluate staining. Stained oak bookcases require a special ability for the staining, though--oak is a difficult wood to stain, and a professional and practiced hand is required. Oak is a hardwood; it is available from Canada, the United States and several other northern countries, although unlike some other bookshelf woods, it is not grown in the tropics.
